Microsoft Folds Azure IP Co-Sell Into Frontier Accelerate for Marketplace

Microsoft is folding four partner programs into Frontier Accelerate for Marketplace. A July 29 announcement said it combines ISV Success, Marketplace Rewards, Azure IP co-sell, and certified software designations for software development companies, coming in September 2026. Microsoft's program page now lists the base offering as available at no cost to eligible partners, a Premium tier available for a fee, and eligibility prerequisites. A Microsoft Learn page updated September 16 publishes Marketplace Billed Sales tiers and says a partner's tier resets at renewal and is reevaluated on then-current performance. No separate Partner Center notice has followed, and Microsoft still says per-partner details are forthcoming. Separately, one of three specialization mergers effective July 31 created Agentic Business Solutions, whose criteria require at least one consulting service offer for Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, or Power Virtual Agents published on Microsoft Marketplace. The other two carry no Marketplace criterion.

Our take: The load-bearing word in Microsoft's July announcement is still "forthcoming." Base versus Premium benefits, the prerequisites, and the Marketplace Billed Sales tiers are all published now, so the open question is no longer what exists but which of it a given partner inherits when their own renewal comes around. Ask your partner development manager for the before-and-after in writing ahead of that renewal date rather than after it, and ask which Grow tier your trailing twelve-month Marketplace Billed Sales actually puts you in. And resist reading the Agentic Business Solutions listing requirement as a blanket policy: the criterion has been in force since July 31, but it attaches to one of the three specializations created that day, which makes it a precedent worth watching rather than a standard that now runs across specializations.
